Lee's Handiwork

This post is long overdue.  Lee played a huge role in the upgrade of our space in our new box.  Most of his work is not immediately visible, though.  It's what you don't see that is the beauty of Lee's work.  All around the gym floor (the photo above is of the one of the pieces Lee installed at the top of the ramp), Lee made some custom-fitted caps that hold our gym floor in place, nice and tight.  Gone are the huge gaps in the floor that people used to trip over.

If you trained at our previous spot on 39th St (yes, memories of a time gone by...the massage parlor, the sweet smell of marijuana wafting through the gym, the broken glass on the street), you'll remember that the rubber mats would separate and leave gaps in the floor wider than the position of Brandon's feet when he catches his power clean (now that's wide!).

Let's give a big thanks to Lee in comments!

thanks lee...custom-fitted caps pretty impressive.

also impressive, yesterday's cleans greater than body weight.

That is the best picture of Lee.  It's so him.  It makes me smile just to look at it because Lee always does exactly that wave when I see him around:)  Thanks Lee, for the friendly smile, oh, and, all your handiman ways!

Whether it be gym flooring or wall balls, the guy just smiles and keeps on going until the job is done.

Thanks, Lee. Getting to watch you fit the flooring around the various support posts was pretty cool, too. Lee would measure things out, make his cuts and the mats fit beautifully. Impressive.

the fittings and wondered who did them.  Nice work Lee.

Also, I want to echo Funny Socks's comments on your lifts yesterday.  Well done!

Thank you for your work at the box, Lee.

I've not often worked out with Lee, since our schedules are so different, but I've certainly enjoyed his company at social gatherings. His appearance at the white trash BBQ will live on in all our memories.

Yep, Lee always has a friendly smile and never seems to think he deserves positive feedback, especially during a WOD. I'm glad this was posted so that he can get the recognition he deserves. By the way, he also has some handy tips on lower back stretches. Thanks for everything, Lee!

Lee............When I've had the opportunity to work a wod with you, its always the same:  Class, Intensity, Respect and all out effort.  Im looking forward to the next one!

Lee, what's up? I guess I have to do some evening classes to catch up with you in person. Thanks for all your work at the gym. I'm probably not speaking for Franklin or Daniel, but your skills definitely helped out those of us who are much less handy than we'd like to be. Many times were the words "nice cut" spoken, with admiration, during the installation of the mats.

My favorite line from Lee, spoken in the bar at Juan's Place, "Cash is King".

I owe you one.

Here's a link to my photos from part 1, Tuolomne Meadows to Mammoth.

Lance- Thanks for the push today during the workout, you killed that wod! That was fun.

Lee is hot.

Thanks for sharing, Joe. Looks like a good time.

What "workout" was Lance doing with you, Nabil? He already did a WOD at CFO with the 6am crew.

lance doing private wods with Nabil? lance is cheating on me? i'm crushed.
